Police directors from around the Philippines visit Stairway

10 years of close collaboration with the Philippine National Police (PNP) culminated in a near impossible task of gathering the police directors from all 17 police training institutes around the country to spend time at Stairway.

During the 2-day visit from March 8-10, the directors were introduced to all aspects of Stairway’s programs while at the same time discussing new strategies for collaborations to enhance the child protection focus within the National Police Force.

Kudos to Nancy Agaid, Stairway’s senior social worker and advocacy officer, who has nurtured this collaboration with the National Police Force for nearly 10 years now.  Entering in one training school back in 2007 and working in a step by step manner, members from the Break the Silence team, now give child rights and child protection training to around 10,000 cadets every year!

A special thanks to our friend, General Guinto, who invited Stairway to present our advocacy to one school, and ever since he has been an amazing ally in promoting children’s rights within the PNP.

We hope that our constructive collaboration with the national law enforcement will continue into the realm of the new incoming national government!
