In celebration of Safer Internet Day, last February 7, Stairway Foundation, Inc. launched its latest animation short and accompanying e-learning module, For Your Eyes Only, a Story of Sexting and Sextortion.
Jasmine and Justin are in a romantic relationship. They start to share intimate images of one another through technology. One day, Justin receives an image of Jasmine kissing another guy. Upset and pressured by his friends to “do something,” Justin “gets back” at Jasmine by threatening to post her nudes online. In a twist of fate, Justin, who distributed Jasmine’s intimate photos without consent, falls victim to sextortion, which also causes his images to be released online.
In conjunction with the launch of For Your Eyes Only, Stairway conducted a baseline survey with over 2000 students from four public high schools in Puerto Galera to determine children’s online experiences related to sharing sexual and intimate content online. You can read the study here.
