Local Government Units undergo CSAP training

Representatives of the Local Council for the Protection of Children (LCPC) Caloocan, Malabon and Navotas (CAMANA) underwent Child Sexual Abuse Prevention Training on June 24-27, 2019 in SFI Training Center, Puerto Galera, Oriental Mindoro.

There was a good mix of participants – social workers, psychologists, health personnel, law enforcement officers and lawyers – making the discussions richer, especially on handling cases. The training is part of the capacity-building interventions for the LCPCs of CAMANA as part of the Break the Silence Campaign with Samahan ng Mamamayan ng Zone One Tondo Organization (SM-ZOTO) in partnership with the Local Government Units.

The BTS campaign with SM-ZOTO aims to protect children from online and offline child sexual abuse and exploitation through strengthened prevention and response mechanisms of CAMANA LCPCs. The LCPC is the mandated structure to formulate, implement and monitor policies, programs and services for children at the local level. This initiative is supported by the British Embassy Manila.
